Pages of Life

If my thoughts could be digitized

What would they say

Consider this

Lay down that pen, pencil, keyboard

Or any other means to which

Words find their way to print

For paper still remains

The only medium that listens

And then reflects back

The very words written

As the world grows louder

The voice inside my head

Finds solace in the breakdown

Of an aging nervous system

And quiet never felt so good

Many times I did try

While these failures

Could move mountains

But then there will always

Come a time when

The scales weigh heavy

In one sided judgment

Opening a vortex

To a personal apocalypse

Where the human side

Yields to something

Not of this world

And all that is left

Are the papers

Filled with words

Of an existence forgotten

Because nobody listens
